These Are A Few Of Our Favorite Things

Sarah Seven's These Are A Few Of Our Favorite Things Friday - www.sarahsevenblog.com

Hey, Hey Friday! How you doin'? Glad to see the weekend is finally here! So much has been happening and we have to admit that a little sleeping in this weekend is much needed. However, we hope you have some amazing things planned this weekend, even if you are just cuddling in bed with your pets, your honey, and those fabulous feather pillows. And if by chance you're looking for some internet prowl suggestions, these should keep you busy from one to the next.

Vogue's favorite street styles from Australia Fashion Week have arrived. We're really loving Natalie Cantell's black lace dress by Kate Sylvester.

You may know that California is in an extreme drought, and we are running out of water fast. And as we had Earth Day this past week, we really admired Darling Magazine's Tips for Loving The Planet.

35 celebrity hair and makeup looks? Yes, please, we might be thinking of changing our norm, and with all of these great looks, it shouldn't be hard to find one we love.

So bridal week has come and gone and what a whirlwind of one gorgeous trend after another! Soon to be a bride? These are the top 2015 bridal trends!

Grapefruit Ricotta Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting say whaaattttt? Okay, maybe sleeping in and making this dessert!

What do you think of InStyle's 10 Best Red Carpet Looks for the darling Blake Lively? Feel like they left anything out?

While you're being lazy in bed this weekend, here's a little food for thought on 5 ways to make your home feel well-traveled. Thanks to The Everygirl, we can always get amazing inspiration, tips, and tricks!

That should do the trick for the weekend too! Have a good one!

6 Reasons Why Work Wear Rocks

At least for most companies, gone are the days of wearing the basic black pencil skirt, button down blouse in a subdued color, and basically covered with yet another black blazer. And while these items are still totally valid in your closets, being more fashionable at work has come alive with ingenuity and grace.

Ladies, you are creative individuals and you can show this through your wardrobe. We've taken notice of 7 reasons why we love this work wear fashion revolution, and though it may not necessarily be anything new, it's definitely something to be excited about. Kinda feels as though the possibilities are endless!

1. The Possibilities ARE Endless: Short of wearing a bikini to work, (unless you are a model, but as 99% of us are not), you can wear almost anything. Culottes, jumpsuits, snake skin heels, and accessories galore, you name it, you can wear it. But we love having an air of sophistication and elegance to our outfits.

2. Casual Meets Work Chic: Adding a chambray shirt to a camel pencil skirt with nude heels and a leopard print clutch just became a must on adding to our closet. The simple chic-ness of pairing two sides of the spectrum is incredibly attractive. We've got comfort and style in one, and now many pieces in our wardrobe can go both for work and play.

3. Let Your Inner Fashionista Fly: You can be as fashionable as you want. Ok, maybe you don't wear the latest Elie Saab designer gown beaded headed to toe to the office, but with so many options that get closer and closer to exact runway fashions, wearing high heels with a little flare can not only add great interest to the eye, but it's more so acceptable. Pair it with a tulle high waisted midi skirt and you can go from the office to a networking party without changing. Miranda Priestly would approve.

4. Leather Love: Leather isn't just for biker gangs anymore. Leather has a way of adding a little more attitude to an outfit and says "we're passionate, determined, and totally a #GirlBoss." Remember that old black boring blazer? Perhaps think about upping the chic with a new leather sleeved and polyester blazer like this one above. Great with a paired leather mini, skinny jeans, maxi skirt…ok, pretty much anything.

5. Have Fun With Textures: Again, those old polyester black slacks are great classic pieces to pair with other pieces that bring in interest to your outfit, but since we're given a little more freedom with work wear fashion, why not play around with different textures. From tweed to beaded jackets, knit to houndstooth weaved pants, wearing different textures is the same as bringing in different textures into decorating your home; Essential.

6. Color, Florals, Prints, Oh My!: Love that women are incorporating more color and prints into their wardrobes! We don't all look like minions in the same head to toe black anymore! (Discloser: We do love a good head to toe black, but with really cool pieces!) And what's more, is that pairing different prints together, like florals with stripes (done right), can totally work in your favor bringing out that fashionista inside and says to the world, "I'm awesome and I know what I'm doing."

Perhaps you have some of your own reasons why work wear is rocking for you. Please share with us by commenting below and tell us about your fashionista side and how you incorporate that into your working wardrobe.

When a bride like Katie and a wedding gown like Practically Perfect come together, we truly believe fireworks happen before our eyes. And so it was for our dear Katie. Katie and her hubby had such a romantic and elegant wedding in Oklahoma, and we are love with this bouquet from Poppy Lane Designs! Everything goes together perfectly of course, and all was captured beautifully by Josh McCullock!
